Handmade jewelry enchants the eyes of many women and men .They are beautiful, combine with different styles and occasions, and value the beauty of the wearer.Usually, we see only the jewelry stamping and shining the jewelery shop windows. But, do you know how the process of producing handmade jewelry and semi-jewels happens until they reach the shop windows?
In today’s post, we will explain the whole process and the care they spend at each stage.Check it!
Jewelery Creation And Prototyping
The creation of the jewel is the most important, because it is at that moment that the designer (creator of the piece) works with lots of information, creativity and inspiration of ideas. This process is still done by manual drawings, but nowadays it is already possible to use technological tools that allow part designs to be made through specialized software.
Prototyping can also be called the materialization of ideas, and it is at this time that the project leaves the paper through a machining system (wear of the material until the desired shape is reached). The raw material can vary from several types of materials, from plastics to resins and special yarns.
Making The Part (Tree)
The making of the piece is done through a process called “tree making”, in which, basically, a part skeleton is made for the manufacturing process to start.First, the making of the mold is done, so that the jewels and semi-jewels are injected. With the prototype of the piece in hand, the specialist starts the assembly of the tree (a central structure and a base), making small weldings on one side, and on the other side is welded a small device that will serve as support in the final assembly.
Once this is done, the specialist fixes the small welded points in the “stem” of the tree in a straight line, forming rows according to the type of part. After assembling the rows, the welding of 4 more external rods is done, in order to offer the support of the tree. This process requires immense care.
Mold Preparation And Metal Injection
Once ready, the tree is used to create wax molds, with up to 30 wells in different shapes. That is, from each cavity, a new jewel may emerge. The tree is dipped in a steel vessel with liquid plaster. After a few moments, the plaster hardens, forming a block mixed with the resin tree. The piece is placed in an oven to gain greater resistance, and, at that moment, the channels and cavities flow, conforming in several jewels.
Details And Finishing
In this step, all care is little, and goldsmiths are responsible for every detail. Each stone is spiked by hand. The drilling is done by holes to house the stones.Finishing is the last step of the process, and it consists in checking the entire part in order to find imperfections or defects. When the piece is checked and approved, it goes through a special polish. We can not forget also the bath of the jewel, that can be of gold, silver or rhodium (white or black).
Handcrafted Semi-Precious Stones
In some jewels and semi-jewels, such as Tinna, after the gold bath of the highest quality, the artisans who are true artists, complete the making of the pieces, making use of embroidery, stitches and other manual techniques that make the Truly unique handcrafted semi-craft.
After this stage, the piece can already be marketed and adored by lovers and lovers of a good piece of jewelry.Handmade jewelry goes through all these processes to the jewelery shop windows, and the manual work is meticulous and primordial so that the piece is delicate and rich in details.
