Bad Ems – Bad Ems is a well-known balneological resort, which for two centuries has been one of the most important health resorts in Europe. Bad Ems, with an area of 15.36 sq. km, is located in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate, near the city of Koblenz, on the territory of the Nassau Nature Park, in the picturesque valley of the Lahn River – a tributary of the Rhine, which is the border between the Taunus and Westerwald mountains.
For more than a hundred years, the resort has been a success with European kings, emperors, kings, famous politicians and actors who improved their health in Bad Ems and restored their strength here. Petersburg courtiers and representatives of the highest clergy of Europe, Emperor Wilhelm I, Alexander II, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Vasily Vereshchagin, Nikolai Gogol, Tyutchev and others visited here at different times. Today this city is an ideal choice for people who want to relax in a favorable ecological atmosphere.
Bad Ems owes its fame and glory to the healing springs that are located directly on the territory of the Hacker’s hotel – the former “Princely Orange Bathing House”, built in 1711-1715 in the Baroque style.
Bad Ems is also tradition and art, many architectural masterpieces, sculptures, gardens, parks, paintings in art galleries, concerts and performances in the spa center theater and much more. Particularly famous are the Jacques Offenbach Spring Music Festival, the flower parade on the last Sunday of August, and of course the balls in the Marble Hall, which enliven social life in the health resort.
The healing properties of local waters have been known since the Middle Ages, but Bad Ems gained true popularity in the second half of the 19th century, during the reign of the Prussian Kaiser Wilhelm I. Emperor of All Russia Nicholas I, his wife Empress Alexandra Feodorovna and their entourage improved their health here. Now the resort has a large thermal complex with pools with a water temperature of + 32 ° C, saunas, steam rooms, massage rooms, etc.
The “Em Waters” – Emser Kränchen – one of the oldest in Germany – are born in the depths of the Emsky geological bend. The local waters are highly saturated with minerals. Spa guests can also enjoy the newly improved “Thermo Emser” – Ems warm springs, which flow from the deep Ems Waters.
17 thermal springs with alkaline, sodium chloride waters with temperatures from +27°C to +57°C differ from each other in terms of mineral composition and are among the hottest springs in Germany. Alkaline, sodium chloride waters are used for drinking, inhalation, rinsing, irrigation, thermal baths and other types of hydrotherapy.
Maharishi Ayurveda Clinic: In 1993, another wellness center was opened in Bad Ems, based on the Maharishi Ayurveda methodology. Ayurveda is one of the oldest healing systems in the world today, its origins date back to ancient Indian Himalayan medicine and the teachings of Tibetan monks.
The therapy is based on restoring the balance of the human body, since the disease is usually caused by an imbalance in the body, soul, mind or environment. Thus, the Ayurveda healing technique is aimed at eliminating the deep-lying causes of the disease. The course involves not only restoring health and curing current diseases, but also general prevention based on the systematic removal of poisons and toxins from the body.
Bad Ems drinking hall: Water from three sources – Kesselbrunnen, Emser Kränchen, Kaiserbrunnen.
