Get to know the beautiful capital Stockholm on this walking tour. We also experience a fascinating archipelago landscape and untouched nature.
We can look forward to long hikes in Hälsingland and on the high coast in the excellent Höga Kusten National Park.
The tour continues all the way north. Via Umeå, the European Capital of Culture in 2014, we reach our destination in Swedish Lapland, where silence and endless forests are waiting for us.

1st day:
Arrival to Stockholm
Individual arrival in downtown Stockholm to our centrally located hotel. We move into our rooms and discuss the course of the tour with the tour guide. In the evening we will have the first dinner together in Stockholm. Before and after dinner, we still have the opportunity to look around the city center and get our first impressions of Stockholm.

2nd day:
City tour
After breakfast we set off to explore Stockholm. On a city tour, we learn interesting facts about this historic metropolis. We visit the old town Gamla Stan with the Royal Palace and its winding streets and enjoy the view from the Stadshuset, the city’s landmark. At the top there is an excellent view over Stockholm. Another highlight is the Wasa Museum, which we can reach with the help of the Djurgården ferry.

3rd day:
Stockholm archipelago
With the ferry it goes out into the archipelago to Grinda. The island – shaped by birches, firs, red cliffs and small bays – inspired the first director of the Nobel Foundation, Henrik Santesson, to have his summer residence built there. We hike along the Grinda Stigen, enjoy wide views of the coastal formations of the Baltic Sea.

4th day:
Off to the north
In the morning you have the opportunity to take a trip on the steamboat to Drottningholm or a bike tour through the city. In the afternoon we drive to the Hotel Orbaden, which is located in the heart of Hälsingland and directly on a lake with a sandy beach. It is known for its good cuisine and the grandiose spa area (included).

5th day:
Hike on the Hälsingleden
Today’s hike takes us along the Hälsingleden through thickly overgrown forests with numerous clearings. Around noon we reach a refuge, which invites you to linger and relax before returning to the hotel via narrow paths.

6th day:
Day at leisure
Relax on the beach near the hotel, swim or just lie in the sun. Those who prefer to be active can explore the surrounding forests, mountains and lakes on foot or optionally by bike or canoe. Those who prefer to observe Sweden’s fauna in a natural park can visit the nearby Järvzoo. Or how about a hike to a lookout tower, from which we can enjoy a unique view of the region’s unique lake and mountain landscape?

7th day:
Coastal hike on Hornslandet
In the morning the bus takes you to the Hornslandet peninsula near Hudiksvall. Along the coast with its great views, we discover prehistoric sites from the Bronze and Iron Ages, before we stroll on pristine paths to a lookout point. In the evening we are greeted by the colorful Mannaminne, an artist community, embedded in the mountains and lakes of the high coast.

8th day:
Höga Kusten National Park
Today we continue to the Höga Kusten National Park in the Swedish province of Västernorrland. The park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000 and impresses with its overwhelming landscape formations and exceptional diversity. In the morning we visit the nature center of the high coast. On the subsequent hike, we will experience how the ice age, land elevation and erosion shaped the landscape, and after having passed gorges, forests and hills, we will take our lunch break on the shores of the Baltic Sea.

Day 9:
Norrbyskär Island & Umeå
We take the ferry to the small island of Norrbyskär. Then we continue to the cultural capital Umeå, where we visit the Västerbotten open-air museum. In the afternoon the call of the wild beckons. We drive on and check into the eco hotel in Granö. One or the other may be looking forward to their extra night in the tree house (optional for a surcharge).

10th day:
Swedish Lapland
After a day in the city, the vastness of Swedish Lapland is now waiting for us. Our hike takes us through the hinterland with impressive vegetation and species-rich forests.

11th day:
Free day, night train to Stockholm
After breakfast we slowly prepare for our journey home or enjoy the day and then take the night train to Stockholm Arlanda Airport in the evening. Today you will spend without a guide. Expected departure at 8: 45 p.m. arriving at 6: 00 a.m. in the morning.
If you want to fly back from Umeå instead of the train, the trip ends today. Transfer to the airport in Umeå at 8: 30 a.m. and flight home. We would be happy to send you a daily updated flight offer.
